Join the Compass USA family and host a Japanese
exchange student!
When: March 12th-March 29th
Where: Snoqualmie Valley area
Compass USA is an educational organization coordinating an exchange program for
Japanese students in Snoqualmie Valley. This March, 13 students from Hiroshima,
Japan will arrive in Washington to begin their three week journey with a host
family. All of them are very excited to experience American culture firsthand!
We are currently looking for volunteer host families. The requirements for
becoming a host are very simple.
*Provide meals for the student when he/she is at home.
*Provide a separate bedroom or a room that will ensure privacy. The student can
share a bedroom with a family member that is similar in age and the same
gender.
*Spend time with your student when you are at home. Please do not plan to
change your regular schedule. Just include your student in your plans when
possible.
Being a host family is an incredibly rewarding experience. It is a chance to
learn about Japanese culture and share American culture with exchange students.
